Notifications coming up March 1!

Filmmakers from around the globe submitted hundreds of amazing films to the Highway 61 Film Festival this year, and now our judges have picked the very best for the 2019 fest! Look for notifications and announcements of the winners on March 1.

This is where it gets exciting!

The prescreeners have selected the finalists in the competition and sent them off to our 20 wonderful volunteer judges. They’ll have them until Feb. 15., and we should be able to announce the official selections and winners on March 1. Then it’s just a month to the festival on April 5-7!

Enjoy summer in Pine City!

Summer in Pine City has something for everyone! Stop by Robinson Park on Friday nights for free Art in the Park concerts, spend an afternoon walking outdoors and exploring the past at the Snake River Fur Post, show your pride at the 14th annual East Central MN Pride in the Park, take in the big car show and free BBQ lunch at Pine Technical & Community College, enjoy the festivities at our annual Freedom Fest, visit the gallery or take a class at Pine Center for the Arts and much much more! Pine City is a town where passionate crews of volunteers are always working to make their community a better place, and it never shines more than in the summer months. Check it out!

Thanks, and see you in 2019!

We’re grateful for everyone who supported the 2018 “Best of the Fest” edition of the Highway 61 Film Festival –  all the wonderful filmmakers whose works we were able to share, our generous sponsors (Pine Center for the Arts, Pine City Pioneer, Pine Technical and Community College and Pine City’ Pizza Pub)  all those who made donations or purchased an ad, all our amazing volunteers, and of course, all our audience members who came out to enjoy the films.

We’ll be open for submissions starting on October 1. Check out our Film Freeway page for more details. And of course, you can always get a hold of us with questions or ideas at highway61filmfestival@gmail.com.

Thanks again, and see you in April 2019!
